Comparing three Eye Make-up Removers

Hello again :)

So, I think I haven't uploaded anything on my blog for a week or so, which is because I was applying for universities again and I really hope that I'll get in this time and get off this freaking waitlist :'( it really upsets me and makes me sad to hear from people that students at their university got into the class I'm trying to get in and some students quit after a couple of weeks saying, that it's not what they want to do. I mean, people, do an internship and don't just choose something blindfolded and think it'll work out somehow. Sorry, I'm just really mad and frustrated about this whole "getting into a university in Germany" stuff :/
Before I start on my review you have to know, that I'm totally obsessed with all of those three brands. I love all the lotions by Nivea, the make-up stuff by Maybelline, and the micelles cleansing water and the BB Cream for oily skin by Garnier. I love all of those three brands and I don't want to trash any of them. They all have their thing that they're good at.
These are my three removers. The one by Maybelline is almost
empty as well as the one by Garnier, I used the one by Garnier for
only about two to three weeks and the one by Maybelline for
over a month, up to two months..
Let's get started on comparing three products. Today it's going to be three waterproof Make-up removers. One is by Nivea, one by Maybelline and one by Garnier, which I already reviewed in my last post. Make sure to check this one out before reading this :) All three removers contain 125ml and are the same price, which is 2,95€. I just bought the one by Nivea today and I already tried it out. My first impression is not so good. It has a different texture than the others. It's way more creamy and kind of like a lotion, why I thought it would be great and really nourish my eye area, but it doesn't. Usually all the Nivea products leave a really nice finish and sink into my skin really quickly, but this one doesn't. My skin feels sticky and I just feel that it's not sinking in anywhere. From all of the three removers, this one is the worst, when it comes to removing. I always use a cotton ball, let the remover sink in for a while, put it onto my eye area, let it sit and gently remove everything. Well, did not work with the one by Nivea. Usually one cotton ball per eye is enough. With this one I needed two, which is not very dramatic. I mean, those cotton things are not expensive. But especially my Mascara wouldn't come off, even after I put the remover on for the second time. I still have a little bit of Mascara stuck right underneath my lower lash line. My eyes still feel kind of irritated after using it. I used it about an hour ago. Once I was done and I opened my eyes my vision was kind of blurry, which indicates that I might have gotten some of the product into my eye. The same thing happened to me with the remover by Garnier. I need to say one last thing about the remover by Nivea. My lashes are not sensitive at all and I take really good care of them. I almost never have lashes fall out, especially not while removing my make-up. It happened with the Nivea remover though. I'm not someone *itching about loosing a lash or something, but since it almost never happens to me I was shocked to find several lashes in my cotton ball after removing my mascara and eye shadow.. So, I don't like the remover by Nivea at all. It doesn't remove my make-up the way I want it to, it leaves a sticky thing onto my eye area and it hurts my eyes and makes my lashes fall out.
Now let's get going with the one by Maybelline. It has that same two colored thing as the one by Garnier going on, which means I need to shake it before. You can't really see on the picture though. I thought "why should I buy two new make-up removers. I just need to test the one by Nivea"... if only I would've known before that I'll dislike this product... I would've purchased the one by Maybelline as well. So, I put that remover onto my cotton ball, put it onto my eye area and let it sit for a while. This remover almost takes off all of my make up in one swipe. It leaves a slightly oily finish on my eyelid, which doesn't really bother me, since I usually just chill in my room/the living room, or go to bed straight after taking of my make-up. So, yeah, let my eyelids be as shiny and oily as they want to be. I just keep on telling myself that it must have some nourishing effect or so :D maybe it does, maybe it doesn't.. I never noticed any change. Well, I don't even pay this much attention to my eyelids. Actually, I don't really have anything to rant about this product. It doesn't use up too fast, it doesn't make my eyes hurt, it leaves a good finish (which always depends on how you prefer the finish to be) and most important: it removes all of my make-up easily.
I'll just sum up what I said about the remover by Garnier very quickly. It's too fluid, it gets everywhere into my eye and really makes my eye hurt, it uses up way too fast, there always comes out too much out of the bottle, but it has a non-oily finish, which makes this remover great for a quick make-up change, and it removes all of my make-up.
So, as I already said, I clearly don't want to trash any of these brands since I enjoy using different products from all of them, but their removers just didn't work out for me. I actually think, that the eye make-up remover by Nivea could do much better, if I would use it for my face instead of my eyes.
Well, I guess that's it for today. I'll try to upload more recent, which will definitely possible, since a lot of the products I bought in January were a huge disappointment. I still have some products I love at home, so I'll try to find a good balance between ranting and praising products ;)

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Garnier Eye Make Up remover 2 in 1

Hello again :)
Today I'll be reviewing the Garnier eye make up remover 2 in 1, which hasn't worked out for me. Last week when I was at my local drugstore I went there with the intention to buy a new waterproof eye make up remover, which I did. It was a huge success that I only bought what I really needed without stopping at the make up section :D
So I had the choice between the Maybelline make up remover, which I always bought before and I liked it, but I wanted to try out something new, then there was the one by Nivea, which I'll be trying out next time, and the one by Garnier. Since I'm totally obsessed with the micelles cleansing water by Garnier I thought, why not give this one a shot? So, all three of those removers have 125ml and they all have the same price, which I don't remember now, but I'll be checking on it the next time I'll need to get a new remover, which is quite soon, because this bottle is almost used up as you can see, which is quite disappointing, since I just bought it last week. My Maybelline make up remover would last at least two to four weeks, depending on how often I use it and if I feel like changing my make up during the day, which doesn't happen to often.
So, when I tried this remover for the first time I was surprised how much came out of this bottle, which was definitely too much. I put it on my eyelid as usual, let it sit for a while and removed my make up, which went down pretty well. While gently putting the cotton ball on my eye, I must have gotten  some product into my eye and it stung like hell! I don't know what's in this product that makes it sting so badly. So I was more careful the next time and I was totally positive that I didn't get any product into my eye, but it still stung. Not as badly as the first time though.
Maybe you can read the ingredients on this picture, I'm not sure, but make sure to check them out when you're at your drugstore and see if there's something in there that could make your eye sting.
So overall I don't really like this remover. It uses up way too fast, it hurts, but it does remove the make up quite well, without leaving anything greasy allover your eyelid.
So that's it for today. I know, it's a short review, but it's all I have to say about this product.
Have a great upcoming week everyone :)

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Make-Up

Hello again :)
So today I'll be reviewing on my absolute favorite make-up by Maybelline, which is the Dream Matte Mousse. I've been using it for two to three years and I'm so in love with it! As I already mentioned in one of my earlier posts I have very oily skin. I've been trying different make-ups and foundations since forever but this is the only one that ever really worked for me without looking blotchy or any creasing. In every make up or foundation I am always the lightest color, which is 020 Cameo in this make up. For about 6 to 7€ you get 18ml of this make up, which is quite a lot. I only use make up during winter, because it's just to much for me in the summer. I get oily way faster then in winter. Plus I prefer to have a light make up in summer because of all the sweating. So one container of this make up lasts up to two years for me, if you use it on a daily basis the whole year it might last a year or more, depending on how much you use. I can use this make up with any of my three primers, and it works. I usually apply it with my hands onto my face and gently put it all over it, which works really good for me. Because of the consistency I don't use a brush with it, because it doesn't work.
Of course my skin gets a little bit shiny, but it won't get too shiny with this make up. It doesn't clog my pores and it doesn't smear. It sits all day where it's supposed to sit and does not move a single bit.
So, this is my all-time favorite make up. I really tried a lot of make ups and foundations, but none of them worked like this one. The only thing I have to criticize about this is, that the color is a hint to yellow. It's not exactly to dark, it's just that yellow undertone that bothers me a little. My skin has a rose undertone so it doesn't fit a 100%, but it fits. I just saw that Maybelline brought out one or two new colors and I'm hoping for them to have a rose undertone.
So that's all for today. I'll see what I'll be reviewing next time.
Have a good week :)

Artdeco Long-lasting Foundation

Hello again! :)
I used the color 03. The colors don't have
names. I have very fair skin, so I tend to
be the lightest color in any foundation.
So I was planning on uploading this post on Tuesday or Wednesday, but I got my sister's result pretty fast and I'm only waiting for her long-term result, which could be coming up next week or so, just to see if she gets any dry patches or something like this.
So here's my review on the Artdeco long-lasting foundation:
This is the back of the packaging
which contains all the wrong
promises.. :(
The packaging looked good and promising. The  foundation has SPF 20, contains vitamin E, which has an antioxidant effect and is supposed to kill of bacteria, and the foundation is also supposed to be containing oil-absorbing agents who are supposed to control shine. Since the oil absorbing agents failed so badly on my face I am not able to tell if the vitamin E showed any effects. After I put the foundation on and did my usual make up routine, using mattyfing powder for oily skin, did my contouring with powder products and put on my blush my skin got shiny within not even an hour. I touched my forehead very gently and I had that oily stuff from my forehead on my fingers. So I didn't even bother to take any pictures. No one wants to see that oily skin :D
This is the container the foundation
comes in. It's a simple plastic
bottle.
I tried several primers before using the foundation and having a final opinion about it. I tried the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, didn't work with the foundation, my skin got oily. Same with the NYX HD Studio Photogenic Primer and Base and the NYX Shine Killer. With the make up I usually use all of the above work, but with the Artdeco Foundation none of them did. I even tried the foundation without a primer, trying to find a mistake in the primer. I thought maybe the foundation is supposed to be used without a primer. Same result. I got very oily. Usually I only tend to get only on my forehead, the bridge of my nose and my chin. But this time my whole face got oily, which is unusual, even for me. The good thing is, that I did't get any break outs, which is the only positive thing this foundation did for my skin.
So now here's a short-term result from my sister, who has dry skin:
The foundation worked just fine for her. No blotching, no oil, no creasing into dry patches, which are usually around her nose and after testing it for one day no new dry patches. She even said that it made her skin feel soft after she took it off. I put on her make up today to have the same base for testing the foundation on different types of skin, so we used all the same products, besides the lotion we put on since mine is again for oily skin and hers is for dry skin.
So my first result is, that the packaging is very misleading. The foundation is supposed to be for oily skin, but it's clearly not. Maybe it worked for other people with oily skin, but I totally dislike it. I'm just going to give this foundation to my sister and hope it works better for her in long-term use. So basically I threw away about 20€ for a foundation that doesn't work at all on me. I'll just stick to me old make up, which I'm using for over a year now. Maybe I'll be doing a review on this next time, which should be at the end of the week :)

Have a good week everyone :)

What's going to be on this Blog? Who am I? What the heck am I doing here?

Hello everyone :)
My name's Jess. I'm 20 years old and I live in Germany. I'm writing this blog in English so that most of the people on the internet can understand what I'm writing about and which products I'm reviewing. Some of the products I'm reviewing on might not be available in every country, but some definitely are.
I wanted to have a Blog like this for quite some time now, but I never knew how to start. What made me have this Blog now is a Make Up by Artdeco I bought for about 20€. This Make Up really upset me, because it's supposed to be for oily skin. It's oil-free and supposed to be mattyfing but it only ended up to be totally blotchy on my skin and made my face shine bright like a diamond, which is not a look I like on me. I like my skin to be all matte. I'll post a full review later this week. Right now I'm testing this product on my sister, who was dry skin. So I'll find out soon if this product is a total fail or if 'only' the description is misleading.
As I already mentioned I'm from Germany so I already excuse for any mistakes I'll make in vocab, grammar, etc. Feel free to correct my mistakes and to write down your constructive criticism on any content :) You can also suggest products you would like to have a review on. Since I'm still waiting for a place to study at a university (which is common in Germany) please keep in mind that I do not earn a huge amount of money so don't drive my budget to it's limits by suggesting some high-end products that's price is just totally over the top :D
You'll hear from me once or twice a week and I'll check in later this week, maybe Tuesday or Wednesday, for a review on this Artdeco Make Up I wrote about earlier.

Have a great week :)
